Getting Started
This guide walks you through installing OI Brief and connecting it to your Shopify store.
Step 1: Install the App
- Go to the Shopify App Store and search for OI Brief.
- Click Add app.
- Review the required permissions and click Install app.
OI Brief requires the following access to function:

read_orders | To calculate daily revenue, order count, and average order value |
read_products | To identify your top-performing product |
read_inventory | To detect low-stock items |
Step 2: Configure Your Settings
After installation, you'll land on the Settings page. Fill in:
- Recipient Email — The email address where your daily brief will be delivered.
- Timezone — Your local timezone so the brief arrives at the right time.
- Delivery Time — The time of day you want to receive your brief (e.g., 07:00).

Step 3: Wait for Your First Brief
OI Brief runs a daily sync at midnight UTC. On the following morning (at your configured delivery time), your first brief will be generated and sent.
tip
Your first brief will arrive the morning after installation, once OI Brief has had a full day of data to analyze.
Step 4: Check Your Dashboard
Once your brief is generated, open OI Brief in your Shopify admin to view:
- Today's brief content
- Key metrics: revenue, orders, top product, low-stock count
- Brief delivery status

Troubleshooting Installation
I don't see a brief after the first night.
- Check that your recipient email is correct in Settings.
- Make sure the Email Delivery toggle is turned on.
- Visit Brief History to check if the brief was generated but not delivered.
The app isn't showing my data.
- Confirm you approved all required permissions during installation.
- If you denied any permissions, reinstall the app and approve all access requests.
